Wednesday was set aside as a crew day and the weather was perfect.
There were just 6 of us Greg, Roger, Larry, Rob Couper, Jocky and me plus Andrew drove up for the day.
Larry was not flying due to his long standing shoulder injury and Jocky was happy with one flight to check out Roger "Sophie" as he was planning to "D-bag" using the Sophie if it was possible.
I ended up with 4 flights and my main aim was a few stalls and try getting SATs organised. A SAT is flying around the wing backwards so it is an exciting manoeuvre to do but involves some timing and finese to get it.
Tailslide-FILE0468-2014-03-10at05-41-43 On my first flight I did a stall and then a stall to back-slide as this was my first time doing anything radical on Greg's Nova: Mentor 2 which I was trying with the intention of buying. This photo is of the backslide which is where you let up the stall and the glider actually flys backwards.SAT-late-FILE0469-2014-03-10at06-10-09 On the second flight I managed to get into a SAT and the "header" shot is of that. This shot is leaving the SAT having turned it into a spiral for a turn or two. On the third flight I got another SAT and on the forth flight I did one leaning to the Right (the opposite way to the others. I was pretty excited and had got quite a bit of stalling and recovery practice during unsuccessful attempts.
